The Company was born in the 1997/98 season as Gruppo Arte&BallettO Mauro de Candia and reached its present formation in the 2005/06 season.

Under Mauro de Candia´s guidance, director and main choreographer, the group can alternate into different styles and productions.

de Candia´s choreographic search, in a continuous evolution, originates from a careful watching of the academic language linking and testing contemporary dynamics.

A fresh repertoire based on originality and creativity allows the company to win so many successes that it has become a reference point in the contest of dance companies in Southern Italy.

Its relation with Barletta is significant, thanks to the choreographic residence obtained in 2002. The agreement of growing objectives and planning skills, strengthens the links between the Company and the Town, causing international events, carrying out any creations within constructions and with adequate production modalities to introduce into festivals and theatres.

The success won on stage is an unequivocal sign of its concreteness that may be found through positive appraisals and reviews expressed by field operators in Italian and foreign magazines.

From its debut to now, the Company has been a guest at important festivals and theatrical programmes in Italy, Croatia, Francia, Germany, Scotland, America
