Giovane Balletto Mediterraneo is Mauro de Candia’s ansie of a youth company designed to stop talented dancers leaving the South of Italy.
This project is part of FormAzione Tersicore: a top quality educational and professional guidance course which is financially supported by Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali.
The Giovane Balletto Mediterraneo is designed to offer advanced aspiring students stage experience: performing works of highest level of quality and technique whilst living in a creative environment.
The GBM dancers have a solid academic background and a strong interest in experimenting with the current trends of contemporary dance.
The company’s repertoire consists of Mauro de Candia’s works and also works from young emerging choreographers making GBM a breeding ground for young talented artists.
Other activities the company offers involve open classes, debates and custom made events.
The company is also involved in organizing programs for schools where their focus is on educating the young students on the ins and outs of theatre culture.
Immidiately after its inception experts considered GBM the “Pearl of the South”.
Giovane Balletto Mediterraneo has already gained a reputation for being a dynamic group with a catchy attitude.
