Mauro de Candia made his debut as a choreographer in 1997 with Haydn’s Symphony. This first work marks the beginning of Arte&BallettO and its activities.

A series of performances, a mix of creations and invitations followed one another very rapidly.

In the Summer of 2000 Barletta, his birth place, rewarded Mauro de Candia´s work and creativity, and in 2002, his version of Bolero earned him the choreographic residence from the town of Barletta.

In 2004 Associazione Arte&BallettO was officially born, which has Mauro de Candia as artistic director and has the aim of the culture of dancing as a form of art through the creation of events able to produce culture, the promoting of the formation and production of choreutic performances.

Arte&BallettO forsters initiatives of prominence in Southern Italy, promoting artistical events as the ApuliaArteFestival and the International ApuliaArte Awards with the presence of artists coming from several prestigious companies of the international ballet panorama.

Its important also the referring of Arte&BallettO activities to young people and School, with the utmost care for the choreutic formation with the organizations of dance lectures, choreographic workshops and the offering of scholarships.

At the same time the Pneuma Dance Theater, dance company and center of production, brings on tour, with success, Mauro de Candia’s creations on the internationals stages.

Under Mauro de Candia´s masterly artistic direction today Arte&BallettO incontestably represents a reference point for Apulian dance in the world as well as a bridge towarsds the northern culture.
